Advertising terms for a domain research audience

These terms explain how advertising, sponsorships and paid placements are reviewed on Domain Name List. They are intended to protect readers, advertisers and the editorial usefulness of the TLD directory.

Sponsored placements Domain industry audience Editorial separation AdSense compatible

Domain Name List may display direct advertising, sponsorship messages, affiliate links or programmatic ads. All advertising must be appropriate for a domain name, web infrastructure, SaaS, SEO, hosting, cybersecurity, registrar or digital business audience.

Available advertising opportunities

Advertising opportunities may include display placements, sponsored content labels, directory sponsorships, newsletter or article sponsorships, product announcements, registrar offers and other formats agreed in writing. Availability, position, format and duration depend on site inventory and editorial fit.

Acceptable advertising content

Advertisers are responsible for making sure their creative materials, landing pages and claims are accurate, lawful and not misleading. Domain Name List may reject, pause or remove advertising that includes:

  • Deceptive pricing, unavailable offers, malware, phishing, cloaking or unsafe redirects.
  • Illegal products or services, adult content, hate content, harassment, counterfeit goods or content that targets users unfairly.
  • Misleading claims about domain availability, registration rights, SEO ranking guarantees or registry affiliation.
  • Creative assets that imitate site navigation, system messages or non-advertising editorial content.

Review and approval

All direct advertising is subject to review before publication. Approval of one campaign does not guarantee approval of future campaigns. We may request edits to copy, landing pages, tracking URLs or creative assets before a placement goes live.

Sponsored labeling and editorial separation

Paid placements may be labeled as advertising, sponsored, partner content or a similar disclosure where appropriate. Advertising does not control our TLD inclusion decisions, directory filters, registry summaries or editorial recommendations.

Programmatic ads and third-party policies

Domain Name List may use Google AdSense or other third-party advertising providers. Programmatic ads are also subject to the relevant provider policies, including Google AdSense Program policies and Google Publisher Policies. Third-party ad systems may use cookies or similar technologies as explained in our Privacy Policy.

Reporting, performance and availability

Unless a separate written agreement states otherwise, advertising statistics are provided on a reasonable-efforts basis and may differ from an advertiser's own analytics because of filtering, browser privacy settings, ad blockers, latency, invalid traffic controls or measurement methods. We do not guarantee impressions, clicks, rankings, conversions, revenue or domain registrations.

Payment, cancellation and changes

Rates, schedules, payment timing and cancellation terms must be confirmed in writing before a direct campaign starts. Domain Name List may pause or remove a campaign if payment is overdue, materials violate these terms, a landing page becomes unsafe or a campaign creates risk for users or the site.
